The Plot
Ellie constantly said that he had a very interesting invention, and that he would soon sell it. Naturally, the family did not want to frighten off luck or give someone dad's idea, so they did not bother him with risky questions and did not touch on this inventive topic themselves. But here's the bad luck - now aggressive agents are following Ellie, and, judging by dad's arguments about a blind state, he was developing something clearly illegal and objectionable. Of course, he also offers to escape to Mexico, and lures everyone with stories about a quiet, peaceful sea coast, but he refuses to say what he was working on. His daughter already doubts that the chase is due to his bright but underestimated ideas, and not because of the past.
