Previously, Sam was constantly rushing somewhere abroad, because he thought that in his country, he would be very bored. However, he soon got tired of the fact that he was only having fun and thoughtlessly and wastefully spending money on all sorts of useless souvenirs. Together with a friend, he decided to immerse himself in the history of the place where he was born. The men were pleasantly shocked by how many wonderful things they did not see in front of their noses, how prejudiced they were about what was close to them. They visited many places, heard about battles and coronations, admired the delightful plains and were filled with patriotism.
