The Plot
Unfortunately, insecure women are often used to living in the shadow of their husbands or parents. They try to be helpful and depend heavily on other people's opinions, try to please everyone, even to the detriment of their feelings and needs. Midge was exactly the same, she did everything to please her husband. But he still started an affair on the side and chose to be free.
