Hawkins never thought that he could accidentally cross paths with a man and immediately begin a storm of affection with him that would last from year to year, tormenting both of them. Being charismatic, he was content with endless flirting and generally avoided everything deeply emotional, and then there is this “shameful” relationship with another guy, which begins as pampering, and results in the fact that he is ready to withstand any crisis and ridicule, just so that it all continues. Unfortunately, it was during this period that society decided that it would brutally fight such “debauchers” like him, because it was unnatural and perverted. For forty years they had to fight off attacks, bullying, AIDS, and self-doubt. Maybe if it weren't for all these obstacles, they wouldn't drink each other's blood like that; but perhaps such a shake-up was what kept them together.
