Kathleen has many regrets in her life. For example, that she was born in a poor, unprotected country, and that she had to immigrate with small children. Her twelve-year-old son, trying to protect himself, kills a man, and now he is on the run - even his own mother cannot pick up the trail of the little shooter. He finds himself in a world where the things for which she has reproached him since childhood are encouraged. Will he want to stay among the scum? But what other option does he have if he has to forever hide in the shabbiest alleys?
