The Plot
During her amateur career, Darby learned that people only pretend to be socially normal, but in fact, almost all of them are very strange. And if someone has a lot of money, then he doesn't have to hide how different he is - everyone will still assent to him and flatter him. Therefore, when one very rich recluse invites her and seven other “lucky” ones do not retreat, she is not surprised - a person wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle, but at the same time does not want to completely isolate himself - a typical human contradictory trait. However, when one of the guests is killed in an uninhabited area, Darby realizes how stupid she was for accepting such “hospitable” offers. Moreover, she has a suspicion that this will happen exactly eight times - according to the number of invitees.
