The Plot
How proud Roger was - it's insanely nice to be the first in something honorable and memorable - to become a super soldier so that everyone admires his skill, without even knowing about the drugs. However, shot by a spy, he does not have time to take the treasured liquid, and, in parallel with recovery and annoyance, he learns about some portals and Ravagers. What the slaves are doing there, he does not know, but he already realizes that all his generally accepted mental attitudes are not suitable for new information. He learns that all murders are connected with "hope", but does not understand why this should be interpreted in a non-literal sense. And yet everyone is angry with the Observer, who supposedly sees everything, but refuses to intervene or warn.
